Kiosk is one of the newest buzzwords when it comes to promoting a business online or off. But the question is: what do you mean by kiosk? In my opinion, this terminology should be avoided because it creates confusion among people who are not conversant with technical terms. To make things simple, the term “koi” (as in kiosks) refers to the kiosk setup, while “kiosk” is used to refer to the customer service support services provided.

What do you mean by kiosk

There are many reasons why a company may install kiosks in its premises: to attract customers, to showcase products, to give employees training and work space, to improve efficiency and productivity, and to improve customer relations. If a kiosk has all these functions, then it is technically known as a kiosk. However, a kiosk is not a stand-alone unit that can perform all these functions. Kiosks usually come in two flavors: manual and automated. A manual kiosk is perhaps the cheapest option, but it does not offer any added benefits over the automated one. Manual kiosks need manual support for minor problems. They are also prone to technological failure because they are located at an angle from which sunlight can reach them. Kiosks offering automation have sensors that automatically detect problems and fix them automatically. This allows for a faster solution to the problem and minimizes the chances of human error.
